Penn Yan Aero SuperHawk 180 Horsepower O-360-A4M Engine OptionThe Penn Yan Aero 180 horsepower SuperHawk STC engine option for Cessna 172 Models I, K, L, M, N, and P allows you to replace your 150 or 160 horsepower O-320-E2D, O-320-D2J, or O-320-H2AD engine and comes complete with a new Sensenich propeller and all of the hardware you need to complete the conversion. An experienced mechanic at an FBO or maintenance facility can accomplish the installation in about twenty hours plus the normal removal and installation time. The SuperHawk 180 horsepower engine will give you an increased cruise speed to 150+ MPH; a decreased takeoff distance to 400 feet (700 feet with a gross weight of 2,400 lbs.); an increased rate of climb to 1,020 feet with gross weight at 2,400 lbs.; a ceiling of 19,500 feet and a gross weight capacity increase up to 2,550 lbs. Now you can safely and confidently fly your 172 on a hot summer day with full fuel and four adults. The SuperHawk is optionally approved and available for seaplane applications. Penn Yan Aero has provided thousands of the SuperHawk conversions to happy, satisfied customers since its inception in 1983. The SuperHawk Installation Kit includes: New oil and fuel lines; New Lord Mounts; New Fuel and Oil Hoses; New Scat Hose; New Throttle Bracket; New Airbox Adapter; New Exhaust extension pieces; New High Flow K&N Air Filter; New Alternator Belt; New Baffle Seal; Oil Door Patch (N model only). There are three ways to get a 180 horsepower engine into your 172: Option One Your engine will be precisely assembled and set-up by certified Penn Yan Aero craftsman to Penn Yan Aero's meticulous build and stringent quality standards. It will be delivered complete with; inner cylinder baffles; two Slick magnetos and ignition harness; spark plugs; Sky-Tec lightweight starter; vernatherm thermostat bypass valve; oil filter adapter, oil filter, and oil dip stick. Before the engine is approved for shipment, it is thoroughly inspected and tested by Penn Yan Aero. It is run through the full RPM range for a minimum of 1-1/2 hours including a 30 minute full power run. Dynamic tests include horsepower, oil pressure, and temperature, cylinder head temperature and exhaust gas temperature, crankcase and manifold pressure, compression on all cylinders, ignition system, fuel delivery system, magneto drop, and oil and oil filter analysis. The result is an extremely high value, incredibly reliable, smooth running, long lasting Penn Yan Aero 180 horsepower SuperHawk O-360-A4M engine. The engine has a 2000 hour TBO and is backed by Penn Yan Aero's renowned 100% parts and labor, 2 year, 500 hour, prorated to TBO warranty, supported worldwide and fully transferable.
